[Card News Episode 9] Paving the Path towards a Decent and Equitable Society

A poll was conducted on a random sample of 1,000 adults, aged 20 to 64, living in Seoul to measure perceived fairness in South Korea.

The polling found around six in ten Seoulites (over 60%) feel they are not treated equally in South Korean society. It is worth noting that a greater share of those in their 20s as well as 60s deem our society as unfair, and this view is more common in women than in men.

Suggestion from the Seoul Institute

Increased availability and quality of public information as well as transparency of administrative procedures should be ensured. It is paramount to promote the integrity of civil servants and institutions, disclose the policy process in a fair way and bolster the use of public involvement in decision making as well.
